Since 1991, George has been providing engineering and consulting services for industry leaders in the steel, automotive, and manufacturing industries. George’s areas of expertise include: management and strategic consulting, project management, automotive stamping throughput improvement, supplier metal conversion, metal formability and reference panel systems, and new vehicle launch manufacturing support. George is an active contributor to WorldAutoSteel technical programs, including project manager / instructor for AHSS Application Guidelines, Version 6.0.
Starting his career on the manufacturing line at General Motors, Kirk has experienced nearly every aspect of the automotive and manufacturing industries, developing a comprehensive perspective for clients. Kirk’s areas of expertise include: systems design and team processes, metal formability, stamping and assembly optimization, die shop management, throughput improvement, process engineering, manufacturing systems design and implementation, supplier metal conversion programs, manufacturing cost savings, production troubleshooting and die optimization, and tool and die training programs.
Melissa oversees all Quality System services and strategy for The Phoenix Group. Prior to joining the Phoenix team, Melissa began her career as an engineer at Delphi Automotive Systems and later became a leading independent consultant for quality management systems.
Melissa’s areas of expertise include: industrial engineering, lean manufacturing systems, and quality system services (training, auditing, project management, system development and implementation) for various ISO standards (ISO 9001, 13485, 17025, 14001; AS 9100;
TS 16949; IATF 16949).
Bob Gray has been with The Phoenix Group since 1992 and provided process control and Lean manufacturing expertise to the automotive stamping industry, including training development and implementation of team based systems. Bob currently provides the team with management and direction for Phoenix Services, financial/administrative responsibility to The Phoenix Group and strategic consulting for the automotive industry.
Since 2005 Wil has brought The Phoenix Group his expertise in stamping die/part quality improvement, throughput improvement, material utilization, strain analysis, die optimization, installation of formability and reference panel systems, new vehicle launch process analysis, and Tool and Die training programs. Wil spent eighteen years with General Motors Corporation in manufacturing development and prototype die tryout, strain analysis software development for automotive stamping dies and stretch form bead development and improvements.
Craig brings to us over twenty five years’ experience in the Tool & Die trade, working at Tier 1 & 2 and Chrysler Tool and Die facilities. At Chrysler, Craig spent thirteen years as a die maker working on large steel and aluminum body panels with several of those years operating the Argus optical measuring system. He also worked as Manufacturing Engineering Operations Support Analyst and Formability Engineer for stamped aluminum parts, circle grid and thinning analysis, and support for material blanking.
Robynn joined The Phoenix Group in 2016 bringing over 12 years of human resources experience with her including outplacement, recruiting, training, benefits, payroll and compliance issues. She works closely with our executive team to provide human resource management to all TEQ team members throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Robynn has worked at Right Human resource Consultants where she managed human resources platforms for multiple Fortune 500 companies throughout Florida and the Caribbean.
Since 2007 Russ has provided expertise in various roles at The Phoenix Group. First, as a Lab Supervisor, and Safety and Quality Compliance and for the last 6 years as Technical Director for WorldAutoSteel, a global consortium of steel producers serving the automotive market. As Technical Director, Russ manages a variety of engineering projects, and has tactical and strategic responsibilities in WorldAutoSteel’s efforts to use and promote Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Joining our team in 2015, Larry brought over forty years of manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, quality, production troubleshooting and cost reduction experience. Before coming to work for The Phoenix Group he spent thirty eight years with General Motors on Manufacturing assignments including machining, press operations, assembly activities and testing of all finished products. He was also instrumental in the startup of three new product lines and instituted Lean and Global Manufacturing Systems in several GM facilities.
Chip joined The Phoenix Group in 2008 and provided Laboratory Support, Training and Audit Support in the Steel Industry. Chip’s current role is as Manager-Operations Performance, where he is responsible for the daily operations of Phoenix TEQ business, with a focus on safety, quality and operational performance. Before joining us Chip provided laboratory support and metallurgic testing within customer facilities and proudly served our country for four years in the United States Marine Corps.
Ron Pack has been with The Phoenix Group since 2010 providing Quality Systems Services including training, system development and implementation, and internal auditing. Ron’s current role at The Phoenix Group as Manager-Operations Performance includes responsibility for the daily operations of The Phoenix TEQ business, with strong focus on safety, quality and operational performance. Before coming to The Phoenix Group, Ron spent several years in Management and Sales and earned his Associate of Applied Science at Marshall University.
Jake has been with The Phoenix Group since 2009. Jake started as a data analyst, lab leader, and site supervisor at a major steelmaking operation before becoming a Formability Technician in January 2014, where he performed various disciplines of analysis. Jake became a project leader for Formability System implementations in 2016. Jake has conducted corrective action verification audits and assisted in QMS audits. Jake received his IATF 16949:2016 Supplier Auditor Certification in March 2017.
Jill joined the team in 2015 as an Administrative Assistant at World Headquarters in Springboro, Ohio and brought twenty-four years of communication and design experience to the group. Her role includes Accounts Payable and Receivable, and facilitating communication between external and internal customers and the company. She also manages Social Media and Branding and provides graphic design support for presentations and training materials. Jill earned her BS in Communication and Graphic Design from Eastern Michigan University.
Becky Smith joined the team in 2016 and serves as Controller at World Headquarters. As Controller, Becky provides fiscal management oversight and budgetary planning with additional responsibilities of internal controls and financial reports. Prior to joining The Phoenix Group, Becky spent more than 10 years providing financial leadership, budgetary planning and operational oversight to several corporations in the Dayton area. She earned her Associates of Applied Science and is pursuing a degree in Public Administration.
Renee has been with The Phoenix Group since 2011 in her role as Accounting Administrator. Working at Phoenix World Headquarters, she manages Accounts Receivable, coordinates Contract Personnel, provides Administrative support to our Executive Team and IT support. Renee brings over twenty years of experience in Accounting, Accounts Payable, QuickBooks Reporting, Office Management and Office Administration working with companies in the Cincinnati area.
Juan has been with The Phoenix Group since 2010 providing Customer Technical Service to Steel Mills, Steel Service Centers and Stamping Companies. He implements portions of the Formability System in plants such as MAGNA, GeStamp, and Ford Motor CSAP and delivers training to Stamping Tier 1 and Tier 2 such as Martinrea and Lagermex. Juan’s past experience includes several years with AK Steel as a Customer Technical Representative working on customer claims and development of the steel processors.
Nadia joined The Phoenix Group in 2017, providing Technical Support for Novelis Inc. Her current role is as Novelis Technical Service Representative assigned to FCA Toluca Plant in the production of Automotive Stamping, providing technical support to investigate and resolve customer manufacturing problems and communicate customer concerns, and expectations. Nadia’s experience includes positions with several GM de Mexico Assembly Plants in Customer Satisfaction, ISO Coordination and as a Quality Supervisor in the assembly process in stamping, body shop and paint areas.
Fabian Granados joined The Phoenix Group in 2017, and provides technical support to the automotive and specialties divisions of Novelis Inc. He is the main point of contact for communications among Novelis’ plants and headquarters with its customers in Mexico – currently Ford, FCA and Magna; for problem solving on quality, technical development, packaging, manufacturing, formability, EDI, customer service, logistics, warehousing and other issues related to sheet metal, in the form of blank and coil.
Jaime has been with The Phoenix Group since 2015, he is the Formability Engineering Leader in Mexico and provides support to OEM’s, tier 1 and tier 2 for all metal forming industries, providing training, supporting launches, problem solving, and implementing sections of formability systems. He works closely with die rooms, die engineering and press shop departments using the formability science in stamping process of steel and aluminum. Additionally he supports mills and services centers in stamping issues with their customers.
Menachem Kimchi has been a lecturer at Ohio State for three years before becoming a clinical professor in Welding Engineering education in 2015. Previously, M. Kimchi was a principal research engineer, technology leader, and business development manager for EWI, and has published over 80 technical papers in area of Resistance and Solid State Welding processes of advanced materials.
